Here I am fantasising about getting a lute, but the version with the guitar sounds so wonderful…

You know whats funny, I randomly started doing this without ever knowing what Mongolian Throat singing was, and I didnt even know about the beginning of Dune either. Then one day im sitting on the couch and then I started doing the throat singing like I usually did when my older brother says, "Hey that sounds like the Mongolian throat singing!". I thought that he made that up but then he showed me the video of it, and then recorded me making the sound and was like, "yeah your Mongolian throat singing!" and now I do it at least once every day so now my throat is kinda used to it, im still working on the overtones, but one day I will get it!

im confused, so how did ancient mongolians find out how to do this? was one of them just like “hey im doing this funny sound with my throat check it out ŒAÀAOÃ im not a witch i promise” and then someone else said “hey lets turn this into music” and that was it?

Oh, the beauty of both! But while they're undeniably very different even here, my impression is that you're playing the guitar with a capo, and adopting the lute-playing position for the right hand, brings them closer together. Put differently, and it definitely is a compliment, I've rarely if ever heard a classical guitar sound so "renaissance". Thank you Brandon!

Over 300 years ago black keys were not what it is today. A-sharp was 1/4 pitch higher than A and B-flat was 1/4 pitch lower than B. In other words A# & Bb used to be different until Bach came along and decided it'd be easier to use equal temperament making A# & Bb the same note.

Maybe you think that this is just another video with some "gourmet effect" with some specialist trying to sell you something overpriced and average, just like most of these wine sellers. But... if you just feel the sound without seeing the video, i assure you, you will be able to know exactly the type of guitar. Ressonance is Physics, vibration can be felt. And a very good Luthier hears the vibration direct from the wood, and extracts it in a form... it´s really gorgeous.

Thanks for such an informative video. I am a beginner in guitar although I am not new to playing musical instruments as a hobbyist. Perhaps I will never have a chance to try even USD20K instrument, forget about 200K. So thanks for giving that pleasure if understanding the difference. Personally, I liked that guitar woth USD20K and I hope I get to that level where I can afford and more importantly justify the possession.

The $2,000 and $20,000 sounded so similar I pretty sure wouldn't be able to tell the difference if you blindfold me. Both very sweet sounding proper guitars. Then the $200,000 one had some extra clarity to the notes. And resonants more sharply compared to the rest.

Imagine that strumming pattern but metal

I have tip for beginners also. When i practiced, i found its easier to hit the frequency if u try to do it with the mostly resonating sound or tone. So first try all the comfortable tones u got, and chose the one that you actually feel resonate your mouth. you can feel it on yout ttoth, tounge, lips and the whole head. also open your mouth for a little hole, it makes more easy to sense the resonsance. I you found that, try to stretch your throat as if trying to make it big, open up in every direction and bumm there it is. Warning if it hurts, you trying too hard, dont force, try to do it a bit differently. As you experimenting with it, you will find the way. I hope it helps to smoeone 😄 As i would describe it, its a regular sound or tone amplified with a hollow throat.
